Commits to build 5 houses for families with special needs in Delhi

Covestro India partners with HFH India for showcasing its sustainable solutions for affordable housing

New Delhi, October 6th, 2015: As part of its Corporate sustainability project, Covestro, India along with Habitat for Humanity, India announced a Project  “UMMEED KI AWAAS” a housing project for people with special needs such as HIV positive families in Delhi NCR  region. Prime beneficiary are women headed families.  During  phase I Covestro and HFHI  together will be constructing five houses as a grant with use of materials manufactured by Covestro and along with Covestro’s construction theme.This project is expected to complete in four months time.

Elaborating on Covestro’s sustainablity agenda Mr. Richard Northcote, Chief sustainability Officer, Covestro AG said, “We have a public commitment to sustainability, which is a major part of our strategic development to deliver profitable growth. The housing technology solution being deployed here is unique and first-of-its-kind.  It uses the Covestro PU Insulation System to build a composite panel solution with cement fiber board as the facing and recycled craft paper as honeycomb structure inlay, providing an innovative, lightweight & fast construction system using sustainable, low energy & low cost solutions.
