The unique construction uses cement fibre board with polyurethane foam and honeycomb and is a modular system. The toilets are designed to be lightweight, fire-resistant, heat resistant, weatherproof and smell-proof. They were built using only 36 panels and 3 men that makes the model scalable and help the government to meet its targets and hasten development.
"Covestro, in line with its sustainability-centric bottom line of People-Profit-Planet, has embarked on ground level intervention through its innovations based on polyurethanes. We have set ambitious sustainability targets for 2025; we aim to reduce emissions, invest in sustainable development and contribute to the improvement in the livelihoods of millions of people in underserved markets.
